Lunched in 2009 kickingbutts4life is a pro quitting resource rather than anti smoking website with the intention of offering information and assistance to those smokers who would like to quit smoking.
My smoking story is similar to that of every other smoker's. I started young with the belief I could stop smoking any time I wanted, but after more than 20 years of chain smoking I realized I had a problem and after years of telling myself I should quit smoking I finally thought "maybe I can quit"
So why did I stop smoking? After thousands of cigarette smoked and thousands of pounds spent on smoking and a growing list of reasons to quit smoking running into the hundreds I finally got tired of making excuses why the time wasn't right to stop smoking and decided to make the decision to stop smoking no matter how many attempts it took or how long it took untill I succeeded in stopping smoking.
These attempts spread out over a number of years generally lasted little more than a few hours or a few days at most before I gave in to temptation with the thought 'one more cigarette won't hurt', it will be the last and final one. That last cigarette was elusive, hard to find and always seemed to be one cigarette away.
As a former smoker I understand the frustration, anxiety and irritation involved with quitting smoking and after years of struggling to quit smoking cigarettes using patches and gums and other quick fix solutions that I found ineffective and that only resulted in failure.
Kickingbutts4life stems from my mistakes and failures when attempting to quit smoking and my eventual success and aims to educate and inform smokers, provide smokers with the know-how and motivation to quit smoking, avoid relapse and remain smoke free for life.

Finally I discovered from my own trials and errors and from former smokers I know who had seemed to effortlessly stop smoking, the way they stopped smoking, the method they used to stop smoking and the mindset they had before and after they stopped smoking and then successfully stopped smoking myself.
Just as you learned how to smoke you now need to learn how to quit and the greater you're understanding about why you smoke, the health risks associated with smoking, what to expect when quitting smoking and how to deal with withdrawal once you stop smoking the better your chances when stopping smoking. If you are contemplating stopping smoking or you are struggling to stay stopped then don't give up.
